John, if you’re ready to put a stop to the far right’s assault on our democracy and the freedom to vote – there’s a crucial action I need you to take today.
Sign the Petition: Join concerned constituents across the country in demanding that the Senate take bold action to defend voters’ rights >>
After more than a year of calls, letters, and mobilizations by activists like you – we may finally be at a tipping point in our fight to pass the Freedom to Vote Act and the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act.
Majority Leader Chuck Schumer has announced that the Senate will debate and consider fixing the filibuster next week – or possibly sooner. And if 50 senators (with Vice President Harris as a tie-breaker) agree to reform or abolish this outdated rule, these bills can finally get fair up-or-down votes.
Remember: these bills – which are supported by a Senate majority – would protect our democracy from the outrageous anti-voter laws that partisan politicians have been using Donald Trump’s Big Lie to push in states like Texas, Georgia, and Florida. They would also help end gerrymandering, limit Big Money’s stranglehold on our elections, and more.
After watching Mitch McConnell repeatedly abuse the filibuster to block these bills, any senator who still believes we should have free and fair elections should see that the only way to pass them and safeguard the right to vote is to fix the filibuster.
SIGN NOW: The Senate urgently needs to hear from us. Before next week, tell your elected officials to push past Mitch McConnell’s filibuster and pass critical voting rights legislation.
John – now more than ever, your voice can make a difference in this fight. Before the Senate opens debate on the filibuster, please join me in demanding bold action.
Thanks for all you do,
