John,

With the start of a New Year comes a new list of resolutions, whether to spend more time with family and friends, meet a big goal or make a difference in the world around us.

My New Year's resolution is to flip NY's 1st District, so I can help pass legislation that supports our community and helps our families afford to live on Long Island. But I know that representation starts with listening, which is why I'm hoping to hear from you today.

Will you take my campaign's quick 2022 resolutions survey now, John? Let me know what issues are top of mind for you. As a legislator, I don't pretend to have the perfect answer to every problem. Instead, I've always listened to the concerns of members of my community and collaborated with advocates and experts to find solutions that work.

For example, until it was brought to my attention, I didn't know that renters in my community were not able to get their water quality tested without their landlord's approval. I was happy to work with the local water provider to correct that policy, which was creating inequity in parts of Suffolk County.

Similarly, when I first was elected as a county legislator, I wasn't sure what role I could play in combating the opioid epidemic. Yet, I knew it was a problem that needed attention. So I partnered with organizations on the frontlines of this fight, and have been able to write and pass legislation that's saved thousands of lives.

So today, I'm asking for YOUR input, and I want you to know that your feedback will be central to my campaign and my priorities as we move forward in 2022.

John: What are your top priorities for Congress in the New Year?
Thank you,

Kara Hahn
