Friend: Snow has already arrived and temperatures are dropping below freezing at night in Kabul, Afghanistan. Displaced families are struggling to survive without adequate food, heat and warm clothes.
To help us meet this moment of exceptional need, an anonymous donor will contribute $10,000 for families in crisis zones — IF we can get 100 new monthly donors to sign up this week. Will you be one of them? We are so close to hitting our goal.

Even just $10 a month will make an impact. A monthly gift of just $10 will provide two refugee families each month with blankets to survive the frigid winter.
Your generous support can help refugee and displaced families survive, recover and rebuild their lives. Thank you.

Friend: As the new year begins and the harsh winter settles in, Afghan children and their families are in grave danger.
Snow has already arrived and temperatures are dropping below freezing at night in Kabul. That's the kind of cold that can numb your fingers, make your body shake and weaken your immune response. Things are expected to get even worse.
More than 5.5 million Afghans remain displaced because of political instability, climate shocks and COVID-19. Now, many are stranded in temporary shelters without adequate food, heat or warm clothing.
To help us meet this moment of exceptional need, an anonymous donor will contribute $10,000 for families in crisis zones — IF we can get 100 new monthly donors to sign up this week. Will you be one of them?
Friend, even if you can spare just $10 per month, it will make a lasting difference for families in need.

Families across Afghanistan have been forced to flee their homes, often without enough time to take essential items like winter coats. Many had nowhere to go and had to set up tents in Kabul's parks — where temperatures at night are already dropping below freezing.
Our teams are working around the clock to provide emergency cash so people can get the winter items they need. We are also supporting health clinics that are treating malnourished children, because winter exacerbates the crises — like hunger — families are already facing.
People impacted by war, violence and persecution — in crisis zones like Afghanistan, for example — need to know they can count on us... every day of every month... all year long. Our staff is on the ground to help them survive, recover and rebuild their lives. And we stay for as long as people and communities need us.
If you set up your monthly donation today, you can help us unlock $10,000 for families in crisis zones like Afghanistan. We only need 100 new monthly donors to sign up — and an anonymous donor will contribute an extra $10,000 for families in crisis zones.

P.S. Did you see the IRC's emergency work in Afghanistan featured on "60 Minutes" a few weeks ago? I hope you're proud of the work we're doing together, Friend. As a brutal winter sets in across Afghanistan, the need for families has never been more urgent. Please help if you can. Thank you.
