Dr. Leana Wen has consistently traded on her training as a physician to perpetuate Planned Parenthood’s falsehood that “abortion is healthcare”.

“Planned Parenthood has long claimed that healthcare encompasses the intentional killing of unwanted human persons, and Dr. Leana Wen—despite her brief eight-month tenure—has consistently traded on her training as a physician to perpetuate Planned Parenthood’s falsehood that ‘abortion is healthcare’. The pro-life movement is continuing to rack up legal victories at the state and federal levels, and we have every intention of building on those victories until we reach a post-Roe v. Wade era, and we will do that no matter who is leading America’s deadliest non-profit." —Catherine Glenn Foster, President & CEO at Americans United for Life

Planned Parenthood president ousted after less than a year; pro-life advocates hail 'momentum' ([link removed][UNIQID])
(Christian Post) Pro-life leaders are noting the momentum they now have and are not surprised that Wen was ousted apparently because of her lack of aggressive political focus. "Planned Parenthood has long claimed that healthcare encompasses the intentional killing of unwanted human persons, and Dr. Leana Wen — despite her brief eight month tenure — has consistently traded on her training as a physician to perpetuate Planned Parenthood's falsehood that 'abortion is healthcare,'" said Catherine Glenn Foster, president of Americans United For Life, in a statement sent to The Christian Post. "The pro-life movement is continuing to rack up legal victories at the state and federal levels, and we have every intention of building on those victories until we reach a post-Roe v. Wade era, and we will do that no matter who is leading America's deadliest non-profit. "Foster said of Wen: "If she has had a change of heart about the morality of killing thousands of babies each day, we will welcome her to
our cause."
Surprise — The Future of Planned Parenthood Is Abortion ([link removed][UNIQID])
(National Review) Wen’s firing suggests that, instead of claiming to be just a normal health-care organization, Planned Parenthood intends to capitalize on its status as an influential left-wing interest group. To do that, it must become a purveyor of the entire progressive agenda, to the point of embracing the “intersectional” language promoted by transgender activists. So the mild-mannered Wen had to go. Pro-lifers have long known what Planned Parenthood itself appears to be admitting: The group’s ultimate goal is to wield its political influence within the progressive movement to continue profiting from abortion.
Planned Parenthood says it will defy Trump abortion rule, abruptly announces departure of Leana Wen as president ([link removed][UNIQID])
(Chicago Tribune) Federally-funded family planning clinics, including Planned Parenthood, are defying the Trump administration's ban on referring women for abortions, drawing a line against what they say amounts to keeping patients in the dark about legitimate health care options. "We are not going to comply with a regulation that would require health care providers to not give full information to their patients," Jacqueline Ayers, the group's top lobbyist, said in an interview Tuesday. "We believe as a health care provider it is wrong to withhold health care information from patients."
Planned Parenthood Officials Say They've Halted Use Of Title X Family Planning Funds ([link removed][UNIQID])
(NPR) Planned Parenthood clinics nationwide have stopped using federal Title X family planning funds, according to the organization. The decision comes after the Trump administration announced this week that it has started enforcing regulations that prohibit Title X grant recipients from counseling patients about abortion. The Trump administration's rules – unveiled last year and finalized this year – forbid groups that provide or refer patients for abortion from receiving funds through Title X, which pays for reproductive health care for about 4 million low-income people. After a recent series of legal challenges left the rule in place – at least for now – the administration said on Monday that it would begin enforcing the rules.
Antiabortion Movement Begins to Crack, After Decades of Unity ([link removed][UNIQID])
(The Wall Street Journal) Clarke Forsythe, senior counsel with the traditional-minded Americans United for Life, sees other potential consequences. He recalled the aftermath of the Supreme Court’s ruling in Planned Parenthood v. Casey that reaffirmed the central holding of Roe, wiping out strict abortion bans enacted in Utah and Louisiana the year before. “We were in the wilderness for several years after that,” Mr. Forsythe said. “These losses in the court carry risks and have political fallout, loss of momentum and perceived strategic failure.”
Some Advice for Democratic Presidential Candidates on Abortion Policy ([link removed][UNIQID])
(National Review) These lessons appear to be lost on current crop of Democratic candidates. Of the more than 20 Democrats running for president, most have publicly opposed the Hyde amendment. Similarly, no Democratic presidential candidate has identified a legal limit on abortion that they would support. When New York senator Kristen Gillibrand met with the editorial board of the Des Moines Register, she said she would only appoint judges who would uphold Roe v. Wade saying that “there’s some issues that have such moral clarity that we have, as a society, decided that the other side is not acceptable.” What appears morally clear to Gillibrand is morally complex to many, and morally repugnant to countless others. Wear is correct that Democrats who espouse such an absolutist position do so at their peril.
Biden’s Health Care Plan Demonstrates His Extremism On Abortion ([link removed][UNIQID])
(The Federalist) Overall, it seems that Biden and his campaign team may be overreacting to Biden’s performance in the first presidential debate. Since his exchange with Kamala Harris, Biden’s campaign has made a concerted effort to rehabilitate his standing with liberal voters. These extreme positions on abortion may offer some short-term benefit to Biden during the primaries. However, a body of polling data shows that they will almost certainly cost him during the general election. Indeed, should Biden receive the Democratic Party’s presidential nomination, President Trump and other Republicans should make Biden’s opposition to nearly all incremental pro-life laws—including clinic regulations, waiting periods, and parental involvement laws—a key issue in the 2020 election.
This Abortion Drug Is Safe And Effective. Why Can’t You Buy It In A Pharmacy? ([link removed][UNIQID])
(The Huffington Post) Today, mifepristone is only available at abortion clinics, doctor’s offices or hospitals, from providers who register with the drug’s manufacturer. The FDA imposes special rules on mifepristone that prevent it — unlike most medications — from being stocked and sold in a pharmacy. Researchers behind the new study believe those restrictions are purely political and not grounded in any evidence. And they have set out to find whether patients who obtain mifepristone in a pharmacy, like any other drug, experience any drawbacks. Under President Donald Trump, the odds of easing the restrictions on mifepristone are essentially zero. Scott Gottlieb, Trump’s first appointment to head the FDA, was an opponent of expanding reproductive care. Gottlieb stepped down this spring, and most expect his successor to take similar positions.
