Friends: This week proved progressives don’t have to sacrifice their values to win.
In deep-red Kentucky — which Donald Trump carried by nearly 30 points — voters elected a governor who is pro-choice, supports increased renewable energy investment, and has pledged to expand access to health care.
This is quite a bit different from what pundits claim Democrats need to run on to win across our country. We can build a sustainable progressive coalition from Kentucky to Seattle — if we have the resources to do it.
Will you help build it with a contribution today?
Nothing I’m suggesting is going to be easy.
We’re still up against an incumbent president with access to millions of special-interest dollars, and well-funded corporate propaganda that insists ensuring access to health care or transitioning to a renewable energy economy are “unrealistic.”
These battles won’t be won overnight. But that’s not an excuse to give up fighting — it’s a reason to double down and ensure that we’re a little closer today than we were yesterday.
Please, help us do just that by making a grassroots contribution.
This week proved that hard work pays off. Let’s keep fighting.
In solidarity,
Pramila
