Billionaire defenders. Austerity enthusiasts. Good old fashioned trolls.

Many people like to argue with me on Twitter, but a lot of what they have to say is just plain wrong (and sometimes…mean).

Limiting my responses to 280 characters doesn’t do a lot of these justice, so I decided to take the time to respond to a few of the more compelling critiques I get on Twitter.

I truly appreciate those of you who engage with our tweets with some real thought. It’s my hope that we can use these platforms to have a substantive dialogue about what’s happening in our economy and our democracy — and how we can create a fairer America.

Please feel free to keep arguing with me on Twitter. But do try to be nicer this year.
