Please pick up the phone right now and call your Representative and ask them to vote no or abstain on H.Res.246. Here’s contact information for your Representative: Unfortunately we could not identify your Rep. Please look up the information here: https://www.house.gov/ Here’s a sample script for you to use in your call, but be sure to personalize your message to tell your Representative why boycotting for Palestinian rights is important to you. Hello. My name is [Name] and I am a constituent of Rep. X from [City]. I am calling to ask Rep. X to vote no or abstain tomorrow on H.Res.246, a resolution which condemns boycotts for Palestinian rights. Like many people, I boycott to promote Palestinian freedom, justice, and equality, which are denied to Palestinians by Israel’s separate-and-unequal rule. Boycotting is protected speech under the First Amendment. Congress should not be condemning people for exercising their constitutional rights. Thank you for conveying my opinion to my Representative. After you’ve made your call, be sure to let us know that you did so that we can keep track. For more details about the resolution, check out our talking points. Thank you so much for taking action. Sincerely, Jamal Najjab PS: If you haven’t yet, please invite your Members of Congress to attend our Capitol Hill briefing on Wednesday examining Israel’s abuse of US citizens. We’ll be issuing a policy paper on this subject and hearing from US citizens who have been directly affected by Israel’s mistreatment. When constituents ask their Members of Congress to attend an event, they’ll usually send someone, so please make sure to invite them today.
