Friends,

While we continue to navigate the pandemic, many North Carolinians are stepping up in these difficult times to help our communities. Unfortunately, some businesses may be attempting to profit by illegally price gouging products essential for the health and well-being of folks across our state, including at-home COVID tests and N95 masks.

Price gouging in the midst of a public health crisis is wrong. It’s also against the law.

That’s why Josh is fighting back, and we’d love your support as he keeps up his work to hold bad actors accountable for taking advantage of any state of emergency for their personal gain. [[link removed]]

Since 2018, Josh and his team have brought 11 lawsuits against 27 defendants under North Carolina’s price gouging statute. They’ve obtained 10 judgments against 19 defendants totalling approximately $1 million, including a $274,000 settlement that is the largest price gouging settlement in the department’s history.

When we face an emergency of this magnitude, every branch of government and every elected official must do their part. Josh has proven that he will not hesitate to hold bad actors accountable and ensure these life-saving supplies get in the hands of those who need them most.

Can you chip in and show your support for Josh’s work to protect consumers across North Carolina? Any amount you can pitch in today will make a difference. [[link removed]]
