It's been 100 years since the first person was treated with insulin
Leonard Thompson, a 14-year-old boy dying from type 1 diabetes, became the first person to receive an injection of insulin on 11 January 1922. Insulin saved his life and has gone on to save countless others over the last century. To read more about the story of insulin, head to our website. |
