RJC Launches First 2020 Cycle Ad: Shanda

The RJC has launched its first ad of the 2020 campaign season, the first salvo in a multi-million-dollar effort to help President Donald Trump and Republicans running for Congress in 2020.

The ad, called “Shanda” (Yiddish for shame or a shameful act), criticizes leading Democrats for turning their backs on Israel and threatening to cut US aid to our closest ally. It is targeted to Jewish voters. The RJC is putting $50,000 behind the ad on Facebook, YouTube, and other media.

RJC Executive Director Matt Brooks said in a statement

The radical Left has taken the reins of the Democratic Party, and their policy proposals will devastate our national security, our alliance with Israel, our economy, and our health care system. We’re fighting for Republican candidates because Jewish Americans – our families, our businesses, our elderly, our children – will bear the impact of the policies that far-left Democrats are pushing if they succeed in these elections.

This isn’t our parents’ Democratic Party anymore. What’s happening to the Democratic Party is a disgrace, a shanda, and a potential disaster for our community. We want American Jewish voters to understand what’s at stake in November 2020. Look for much more from the RJC in the months ahead.

Thank you, Rep. Kustoff

A southern Colorado man was charged with a federal hate crime for plotting to blow up synagogue, under statutory language introduced by Jewish Republican Rep. David Kustoff (R-TN). The Protecting Religiously Affiliated Institutions Act became law in 2018. It extended the protections against damaging religious property to include bomb threats against churches, synagogues, mosques, or religious community centers.

Congratulations to Daniel Cameron, the next Kentucky AG

Daniel Cameron was elected Attorney General of Kentucky this week. He is the first African-American voted individually to state-wide office in Kentucky history. Cameron is also the first African-American to serve as attorney general and the first Republican in the post in more than 70 years.

Historian: New evidence shows FDR’s bigotry derailed many Holocaust rescue plans

Not only was President Franklin Roosevelt perfunctory about rescuing Jews from the Nazis, but he also obstructed rescue opportunities that would have cost him little or nothing, according to Holocaust historian Rafael Medoff.

Sen. Ted Cruz: Trump has achieved historic impact with THIS action

Since January 2017, President Trump has appointed, and the Senate has confirmed, 158 life-tenured federal judges, including 20 who today serve in Texas. Taken together, the president’s nominees over the last three years have filled one-quarter of the seats on our nation’s circuit courts of appeals, and two of the nine seats on the US Supreme Court. Few legacies will be longer lasting than this judicial one.
