You might have seen us in the news this morning.

YouTube is allowing its platform to be weaponised by unscrupulous actors to manipulate and exploit others. The current measures to tackle misinformation on the platform are insufficient.

Until now, internet companies have been allowed to mark their own homework, choosing exactly how much information to share about the measures they have taken to protect users from bad information online.

We've signed a joint letter to YouTube urging them to take more effective action against misinformation (find this story in The Guardian ([link removed]) , BBC Radio 4 (02:09:25) ([link removed]) , CNN ([link removed]) , thejournal.ie ([link removed]) , Poynter ([link removed]) ).

Full Fact is one of 80 worldwide fact checking groups calling on YouTube to create a roadmap of policy and product interventions to improve the information ecosystem.

We also urge the platform to work with independent, non-partisan fact checking organisations who are frontline experts in the fight against bad information online.
