Bringing the library to those that can?t get to us

We?re planning to expand our much valued Home Library Service to reach more housebound people and we need your help to do so!

Our Home Library Service already supports over 150 customers and we are expanding to 6 new home library hubs, to enable us to reach more people who can?t visit the library due to mobility, health or caring responsibilities.

Join our friendly team of volunteers in helping choose and deliver books to customers on a monthly basis. It?s a rewarding role and a great way to support others in your local community.?

Discover countless family secrets and stories

Was your grandmother a female pioneer like Dorothy Levitt, the first female racing driver? Was your grandfather one of the last mole catchers?

The 1921 Census of England & Wales is a detailed snapshot of 38 million lives and it is exclusively available on Find My Past, giving access to over 18 million digitised records. Library staff can offer support in accessing the site but library users will need to set up a personal Findmypast subscription to access these records - they will not be available via the library subscription.

*How much does the census cost?*?It costs ?2.50 for every record transcript and ?3.50 for every original record image.

Playtime is back! Come and join us for twice monthly theatre and sensory play sessions suitable for under 5s, kindly supported by the SSBC Innovation Fund. All free, with no need to book.

Wednesday 2?February, join?*Geoffrey Jumper and Mandy in ?A Quite Remarkable Adventure?,?*10:30am at Strelley Road Library and?1:30pm at St Ann?s Valley Library.?

Tuesday 22?February - enjoy some sensory play with?*?The Very Hungry Caterpillar?,*?10:30am at St Ann?s Valley Library and?1:30pm at Strelley Road Library.?

Sensory play sessions can get a little messy so we recommend wearing clothes that your'e happy to get mucky!
