Join AMP, January 14th @ 5:00 PM EST for our 14th educational webinar, “Administrative Detention: The Case Of Hisham Abu Hawash”

Dear Email,

Hisham Abu Hawash has been imprisoned in Israel without charge for approximately 16 months. While under administrative detention, Abu Hawash went on hunger strike and only consumed water with a little sugar and salt. As a result, Abu Hawash’s weight dropped from 175 pounds to 85 pounds. After 141 days of hunger-striking, Abu Hawash can finally go home to his family.

The Palestinian cry for justice is gaining momentum in the United States. For example, Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) condemned Abu Hawash’s detention and called on U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken to “demand an end to Israel’s practice of holding Palestinians living under apartheid in detention without representation, fair trial, or even a shred of due process.”

Today, there are some 500 Palestinian administrative detainees in Israeli prison. While the legacy of abuse of Palestinian detainees prevails, so does prisoner resistance to Israel’s military occupation and overarching settler-colonial project.

Join us @ 5:00 PM EST on Friday, January 14th, for this important webinar where I will be hosting a live discussion on Facebook with our wonderful guests:
