Right now, our communities are grappling with the after-effects of a devastating loss. My heart, thoughts, and prayers go out to those who lost their lives and those who were impacted by the heartbreaking fires in the Bronx earlier this week.
This is not only harrowing on its own, but even more painful when you consider that this was the second major apartment fire to happen in our community over the last few months, after the tragedy in Yonkers after Christmas Day. Dozens of families are now displaced, without homes and stability during this vulnerable time.
Now more than ever, our neighbors need our help, and our team must come together to provide it. That's why we're honored to be organizing with the Gambian Youth Organization and their efforts to help rebuild our community.
John, we're amplifying the call for support and directing aid to the Gambian Youth Organization in order to provide the resources and support to those affected by the fires. All the proceeds will be distributed to the families by the Gambian Youth Organization. Will you chip in?
