November is a special time -- it’s National Native American Heritage Month. This month, we celebrate the rich cultural heritage of indigenous communities and reflect on their history and contributions to this country. Montana is rich in Native heritage, and we all are better for it. Over the last 20 years, it’s been my honor to work closely with Native Montanans to preserve the language, increase sovereignty, and resolve issues both on- and off-reservation. For too long, most federal politicians have ignored tribal issues. Year after year, they have turned a blind eye to missing Indigenous people, water rights compacts that need ratifying, health care, and more. We must do better and fulfill promises to indigenous communities. Together, we must do what Montanans do best: work together to solve big issues -- because Indigenous issues are Montanan issues. It’s time for a government that recognizes and prioritizes Indigenous people and the issues they face. It’s up to us to make sure our federal government reflects the will of all people. Will you chip in $25 today to help send me to Washington to fight for those values? Thank you, Kathleen Williams Kathleen Williams is a fighter for Montana.
