Trump has officially withdrawn the U.S. from the Paris Climate Agreement.
Food & Water Action

John,

The Trump administration just announced the official start of the U.S. withdrawal from the Paris Climate Agreement.1

Despite two years of resistance to Trump's unilateral decision to make the United States the only industrialized country not to participate in the Paris Agreement, he's moving us backward anyway.

By rejecting the Paris Agreement, Trump has made the U.S. a rogue nation on climate change, human rights and government leadership. We know we can't force Trump to understand science or reason, but we can work together at the state and local levels to fight his brutal assault on our climate.

Will you donate to Food & Water Action and help fight for real action on climate change?

The Paris Agreement isn't perfect. It falls short of the bold, decisive action we need to stop catastrophic climate change. But it was at least a step in the right direction. It marked a worldwide acknowledgment that climate change is an urgent crisis that we have to tackle by working together.

But rather than bringing the world together, Trump has started the clock on a yearlong process to withdraw the U.S. from the agreement. Ironically, that process ends the day after Election Day 2020.2 That means we have one year to do everything in our power to fight back.

Donate Now

In that year, we will work with you, our allies, our representatives and people across the nation to fight back at the state and local levels against Trump's attack on our environment. Already, more than two dozen states, representing more than half the U.S. population, signed on to the Paris Agreement independently.3 With your support, Food & Water Action will keep our country moving forward by focusing our efforts on:

  • Fighting alongside local communities to ban fracking, and pushing Congress to ban fracking on federal lands as well.
  • Mobilizing to build a real Green New Deal.
  • Working with states to pass emissions-curbing legislation.
  • Electing progressive climate champions at the local, state and national levels.
  • Passing the federal WATER Act4 to achieve modern, affordable public water systems.
  • Advocating for sensible policies to shift our energy use to 100 percent clean, renewable energy by 2030.

It's clear that Trump has abdicated our government's responsibility to make real change in the fight against climate change. But with your help, we will empower people to do what Trump won't. Will you join this fight by donating today?

Donate today to support Food & Water Action's fight to stop climate chaos.

Onward together,
