The Congressional Black Caucus of the House of Representatives issued a statement urging their colleagues in the Senate to pass the Freedom to Vote Act. The bill has already passed the House, Biden has signaled support for it -- we just need the Senate to act!
Their latest call for action comes on the heels of Georgia Senator Raphael Warnock’s speech urging his Democratic colleagues in the Senate to take national action on voting rights as Republicans continue to refuse to even debate the bill.

CBC Chairwoman Joyce Beatty sounded the alarm on Republican efforts to muddy the waters on the state level, warning black voters will be especially impacted by the hundreds of voter suppression laws that have been considered.
Representative Beatty said: Black communities will “lose the most if the Senate does not do its job and pass voting rights legislation."
Passing nationwide voting reforms is one of the single greatest ways we can stave off undemocratic attempts to overturn fair election results on the national, state, and local level.
