Dear John,

Today, we are thrilled to announce Sister District’s first six State Bridges partners for the year: Rural Arizona Action (RAZA), Living United for Change in Arizona (LUCHA), Mothering Justice, We the People Action Fund, Pennsylvania Stands Up, and Pennsylvania United.

If you already understand the importance of community-based, long-term organizing, will you donate $20.22 right now to our incredible partners in Arizona, Pennsylvania, and Michigan? Or, read on to learn how our State Bridges program works.

Protecting our democracy depends on progressive victories in key battleground states like Arizona, Michigan and Pennsylvania. Those victories are possible when we support local power-building organizations and the activists that lead them. Long-term community-based organizing, often led by people of color, lays the foundation for building progressive power in state legislatures come Election Day.

In 2022, Sister District will hold virtual fundraisers for each State Bridges partner. Each event will feature special guests from our partner organizations in conversation with Sister District founders and leaders, and opportunities for attendees to ask questions and learn more about what's happening on the ground in these critical states.

We are excited to kick off our 2022 State Bridges program with our first 3 events:

  • February 2: Arizona – Living United for Change in Arizona and Rural Arizona Action. Featuring special guests: LUCHA's Co-Executive Directors Alejandra Gomez and Tomas Robles and RAZA's Co-Executive Directors Natali Bock and Pablo Correa.
  • March 2: Michigan – Mothering Justice and We the People. Featuring special guests: Mothering Justice's Executive Director Danielle Atkinson and We the People's Executive Director Art Reyes.
  • March 16: Pennsylvania – Pennsylvania Stands Up and Pennsylvania United. Featuring special guests: Pennsylvania Stands Up's Executive Director Carrie Santoro and Pennsylvania United's Managing Director Jennifer Rafanan Kennedy.

As LUCHA’s Tomas Robles has explained so clearly, $100 today is worth $1,000 in September to these powerbuilding organizations. They need resources now to hire organizers and build voter engagement plans, all of which will lay the groundwork for our candidates to win on Election Day, and to build power in the long term. Thank you for joining us as we build power in our states!

In solidarity,

The Sister District Team
