Friend,

I was the very first Senate cosponsor of the Judiciary Act of 2021 to expand the Supreme Court, and I’m a strong supporter of abolishing the filibuster.

But to accomplish those tasks, we first need to protect the right to vote, which is currently under attack in Republican-controlled state legislatures across the country.

Restrictive and discriminatory voting laws are anti-democratic and anti-American. In response, Senate Democrats introduced the Freedom to Vote Act. We must pass this bill as soon as possible, and change Senate rules if necessary to guarantee federal voting rights protections for all.

Protecting the right to vote before the 2022 midterms should be our top priority. If you’re with me, add your name in support of passing the Freedom to Vote Act.

Republicans are attempting to undermine our democracy all over the map. Last year, 19 different states passed 34 laws making it harder to vote, and hundreds more were introduced.

These laws restrict polling locations and polling hours, disproportionately impacting communities of color. Some laws make it harder to cast mail-in ballots and increase voter roll purges. Some even criminalize activities like providing water and food to voters waiting in line.

But the Freedom to Vote Act protects the right to vote at the federal level, curbs voter suppression, makes Election Day a holiday, combats partisan gerrymandering, and more.

Now is the time for Senate Democrats to act. Join me by adding your name and becoming a citizen co-sponsor in support of the Freedom to Vote Act right now.

Thank you for adding your name next to mine and raising your voice to expand voting rights for all. We can’t make this change without your support.
