John,
As we alerted you last week, Majority Leader Chuck Schumer has said that the Senate could vote on the Freedom to Vote Act and the John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act as soon as this coming Monday, Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
Both of these pieces of landmark legislation are critical to protecting every American’s freedom to vote. That’s why we’re asking you, the Issue One community, to help us turn up the heat and build momentum for these bills ahead of the Senate’s vote.
We want to generate thousands of calls to senators this week. Can you be one of the callers?
Call your senators NOW at (202) 224-3121 and tell them to pass the Freedom to Vote Act and the John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act!
Thanks for all you do,

John,
Tomorrow marks the one year anniversary of the deadly January 6 insurrection. And since that time, we’ve continued to see our democracy and democratic institutions threatened by partisan extremists.
Throughout 2021, 19 states passed 34 laws restricting voting access.1 On top of that, some states have placed election administration positions under greater partisan control for political gain.
These assaults on our democracy must stop. For months now, lawmakers on Capitol Hill have been considering the Freedom to Vote Act and the John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act — both historic pieces of legislation that would protect Americans’ freedom to vote. And, ahead of tomorrow’s anniversary, Majority Leader Schumer has signaled his desire for the Senate to take action on these bills in the coming days.
The Senate must step up and do what it takes to pass these critical bills and help protect our democracy.
Call your senators NOW at (202) 224-3121 and tell them it’s time to act on these bills!
If you don’t know who your senators are, click here to find out, and then call them at the phone number provided.

It’s time to act on the Freedom to Vote Act and the John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act. These bills would protect our elections, ensure every American’s freedom to vote, end partisan gerrymandering, and much more. The Senate must not let these bills go by the wayside. Senators must do whatever it takes to pass them and strengthen our democracy.
Onward,
