This may feel like déjà vu, as we successfully pushed the March for ‘Life’ to go virtual last year, [1] but the pandemic is not over and neither is our resolve to keep people safe, no matter what.
The Omricon variant of the coronavirus is ripping through cities, and D.C. has been hit especially hard. We’ve seen some of the highest case rates in the country, with over one hundred thousand as of this week and weekly deaths topping one thousand. [2, 3] At the same time, hospitals are overcrowded, presenting a grave danger to everyone with urgent medical needs.
Moving forward with the March for ‘Life’ will cause harm. COVID is particularly dangerous for people of color, many of whom are crucial frontline workers in the metropolitan area of Washington, D.C. It must also be noted that children under the age of five are not yet able to access vaccines and pediatric hospitalizations are skyrocketing. [5] There is only one pro-life thing to do if you actually care about babies: To shut down the super-spreader March for ‘Life.’
