Team,

On Wednesday of last week, COVID-19 cases hit a record high since the start of the pandemic in Washington state. The Omicron variant is spreading rapidly – our health care providers are overwhelmed, and many hospitals are reaching capacity.

In response to the surge, Governor Inslee said Washington State will distribute 5.5 million at-home COVID-19 tests, open a new mass vaccination site, and share resources for people to get free masks — including distributing more than 10 million masks into local communities and schools.

Getting through this surge is going to take all of us doing our part. We encourage you to wear a mask, socially distance, and get boosted if you haven't yet! Check out these resources below whether you need a vaccine, test, assistance, or other information:

Derek and House Democrats are working to help our country heal from the COVID-19 pandemic. That's why Derek helped pass historic relief with the American Rescue Plan Act and voted the Build Back Better Act through the House to rebuild our economy and give working families a helping hand. And last month, Derek introduced bipartisan legislation to improve access to health care in rural areas.

Together, we will get through this pandemic and rebuild our country with more economic opportunity so everyone has a chance to earn a good living.

Stay safe,

Team Kilmer
