Long story short: we have a lot of new ground to cover before our first re-election.
John, the new proposed maps for our district are finally in:

This proposed map is a drastic change — it's even more of a change than we initially anticipated. Not only does it add on a massive new area of New York that we'll have to hit hard with our voter outreach efforts, it also changes the landscape of our electorate.
Long story short: we have a lot of new ground to cover before our first re-election. Can we count on you to support our campaign with a donation of $3 or more? Your donation will help us confidently plan our next steps to grow our momentum, reach out to new potential voters, and keep Jamaal in Congress.

With this proposed map, our in-district voter demographics will have a major shift. The new map means a 10% decrease in Black voters and a 27% decrease of Latino voters. The new map also cuts off strong, progressive areas that helped boost Jamaal to victory in the last election and brings in about 15% more Trump voters.
So, if the finalized redistricting maps look at all similar to the one above, we're going to need to double down fast on our voter outreach.
From shuttling volunteers to new areas to connect with more voters to expanding our digital and TV ads to share Jamaal with people who don't know him yet, these plans are going to cost a lot of money. And if we do it right, we can put Jamaal in the best position to win his upcoming re-election campaign. But we have to start now.
We can't afford to lose out on a single day of voter outreach if we want to ensure our momentum is strong enough to keep NY-16 a progressive district. Please help us prepare for these fights ahead starting right now with a contribution of $3 so we can gear up for the work we have ahead of us.
Let's do this,
Team Bowman
