3 Holy
Masses Our Lady of Prompt Succor, Jan 13-14. Submit
intentions now!
Dear Friend,
When you love someone, you have a
desire to feel close to them and want to know more about their life.
Many of you have a deep love for the Blessed Virgin Mary and feel near
to her when praying the Holy Rosary. In 2022, I want to share
information on the various titles given to the Mother of God,
including the background and prayers, as well as initiating prayer
events, along with holy masses that will take place throughout the
year.
Let us begin with Our Lady of
Prompt Succor. If you live or have traveled to the deep south, you may
already have said prayers to Mary, under this title. “Prompt Succor”
means “quick help” – Mary comes quickly and takes care of any
situation! The National Votive Shrine is located in New Orleans,
Louisiana. Pope Pius IX authorized public devotion to Mary, under
this title, in 1851. In 1894, Pope Leo XII approved the Canonical
Coronation of the image. The gold and precious stones on the crowns of
Jesus and Mary were donated by the people of New Orleans. The
veneration and honor are due to the two miracles through the
intercession of Our Lady of Prompt Succor that took place in 1812,
when a terrible fire that raged through New Orleans spared the convent
and in 1815, when the Battle of New Orleans was won.
As you know, Cardinal Burke follows
the Traditional Calendar of the Roman Catholic Church; the Traditional
Feast of Our Lady of Prompt Succor is January 15. Please submit your
intentions for the Three Holy Masses, invoking the aid of Our Lady of
Prompt Succor on January 13, 14 and the Feast Day on January
15.

of Prompt Succor, who is full of kindness and a haven of safety, to
