Dear John,

Happy New Year! At the start of each new year, we like to reaffirm the NhRP’s mission and assess how best to achieve it.

Together with you, our supporters, we’ll press forward this year in our unrelenting pursuit to break through the thick legal wall that arbitrarily and unjustly separates human and nonhuman beings. In 2022, the NhRP aims to:

  • Argue in support of Happy’s right to liberty before New York’s highest court
  • File at least one new nonhuman rights lawsuit in California and a new nonhuman rights lawsuit in Colorado
  • Work with lawmakers to introduce a historic piece of legislation that will establish and protect the rights of nonhuman animals
  • Assist our international legal working groups with the filing of nonhuman animal rights lawsuits

And more! To read our full list of goals for 2022, please head to page 39 of our 2021 Annual Report. Our organizational mission and objectives can be found on page 4.

To kickstart the new year, we invite you to join NhRP Executive Director Kevin Schneider and NhRP Director of Government Relations and Campaigns Courtney Fern on a Zoom seminar to discuss what’s in store for this new year. Please click here for more details and to register.

If you have any questions you’d like answered, please feel free to email us ahead of time. You can also ask them live via the Zoom chat window. We’ll post the recording on our YouTube channel afterwards for you to rewatch or share.

To get the latest NhRP updates, please visit our blog and follow us on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, or LinkedIn. If you have any questions about our work or would like to discuss how you can support the NhRP in 2022, please reach out to me at [email protected].

As you know, we at the NhRP stand unwaveringly by our unique mission—to secure fundamental rights for nonhuman animals through litigation, legislation, and education. Your support in 2022 will help make nonhuman rights a legal reality.
