John -- Did you see this report by NBC? Their coverage titled "Aggressive gerrymandering may make elections far less competitive" did a deep dive on how Republicans manipulated maps in AOTL target states:

✥ North Carolina: Republican legislators “ignored race data.”
✥ Ohio: GOP lawmakers “sidestepped a new commission.”
✥ Georgia: Conservative map drawers drew a map with “no competitive seats.”
✥ Texas: Right-wing lawmakers eliminated many swing districts with a map that resulted in the “loss of some of the most competitive House races in the country.”

If Congress passes the Freedom to Vote Act, maps in these states could be challenged on partisan gerrymandering grounds. Our team already determined the maps in North Carolina, Ohio, Georgia, and Texas would all FAIL the bill’s gerrymandering test.
