Hi folks — I am not a typical politician. I was a laid-off geologist who mustered every scrap of savings in my bank account to open a brewpub in downtown Denver (our flagship brew was the Light Rail Ale).

I didn’t run for office for money or power, I ran because I knew our government could benefit from the voices and opinions of everyday Americans. So when people say the system is broken, I know what they mean.

When I was first sworn in as your Senator, I promised to end the gridlock in Washington and find common sense solutions to help Coloradans. I’m proud to say we got a lot done last year. But some of our most meaningful and consequential legislation still faced unnecessary road blocks.

In 2021 alone, the Senate tried to pass three crucial bills protecting the right to vote — but the filibuster was used to block all three, without even a debate.

One of my first priorities in the new year is finally getting voting rights legislation on President Biden’s desk. Now that Congress is back in session, the Senate must immediately pass legislation protecting our sacred right to vote. And if we need to change the filibuster to get it done, then let’s do it.

If you’re with me, add your name to my petition demanding the Senate change the filibuster and pass legislation protecting the right to vote immediately. [[link removed]]

Protecting this fundamental right shouldn’t be a partisan issue. Plain and simple. Our democracy works best when more folks can make their voices heard and I refuse to stand down while our right to vote hangs in the balance.

Thanks for your support.
