Friend,
Last week, two women of color candidates who we helped train and support started their first terms on the Detroit City Council. They were among a number of candidates to not only participate in our inaugural Rooted in Community Campaign School last year, but win their elections!
Now, with new district lines in Michigan, which have divided up many majority-Black communities, we need to work twice as hard to elect the next generation of Black and brown leaders.
That’s why my Rooted in Community Leadership PAC is preparing for our second Campaign School to train, support, and elect women and people of color who are rooted in community.
We’ve already received a ton of interest from many first-time candidates seeking to run in 2022, but before we launch this critical program, we need to ensure it’s fully funded.
Can you make an early 2022 contribution to my Rooted in Community Leadership PAC today? Your donation will help launch our next Campaign School to train the next generation of leaders running for local and state-wide public office.
Together, we’re working to support and elect candidates who reject corporate greed and are truly rooted in community. That’s what I’ve been doing my entire career.
In addition to breaking barriers as the first Muslim woman elected to the Michigan State House and then U.S. Congress, I make sure that when I knock down a door, I hold it open for those behind me. We've got to make sure our government reflects and represents the most vulnerable communities, who've been left behind by our government for too long.
Help us launch our 2022 Rooted in Community Campaign School to train and elect more women and people of color to local and state-wide office! Donate $5 today.

Thank you for all that you do to ensure all of our voices are represented, from city councils to Congress.
Always serving you,
Rashida
