but we can't do it by selling the American people empty promises
Team —
Yesterday I officially filed to be on the ballot in New Hampshire. This is a major step on the road to our victory, and I couldn’t have done it without the support of grassroots backers like you, friend.
While there, I spoke with the top TV station, WMUR, about why I’m the candidate who can beat Donald Trump. Here’s what I said:
That’s exactly why I’m concerned about the Democratic Party’s lurch to a set of policies that are good for raising money on the internet, but are never going to happen.
If we set ourselves up in a position where the agenda we’re pursuing is not one that unifies the American people, but creates further division in the country, we know Trump will win.
I think Warren and Sanders’ Medicare for All plan is unpassable.
They’re proposing that Democrats run on a platform that only one-third of Democrats support, much less those we need to win back to beat Trump.
I’ve worked at the local level as superintendent of the Denver public school system – my budget was three times bigger than Buttigieg’s city budget.
I’ve also spent 10 years in the Senate, representing a state that’s only one-third Democrat, spearheading some of the most important bipartisan discussions that we have had – on immigration, on health care, and on education.
I’ve been at the center of all of those battles, friend.
