ORANGE COUNTY, Calif. — On Monday, San Juan Capistrano Mayor Derek Reeves endorsed Brian Maryott and released the following statement:

"I unequivocally and without reservation, endorse Brian Maryott to serve as our Representative in Congress. I had the privilege of serving with Brian for four years, and during that time he was an outstanding Mayor and City Councilman. He brought extensive private sector experience to the job and was a true advocate for our city and our residents. Brian Maryott will be a great member of Congress and I am proud to endorse him."

Brian Maryott responded, "Mayor Reeve's endorsement means a great to me both personally and professionally. Having worked together for many years, I have seen first hand the standard to which Derek holds himself and his colleagues. I look forward to working with Derek again."

Mayor Reeve was first elected to council in 2010 and is serving his second term as Mayor. Derek earned both his Bachelor's and Juris Doctorate at the University of Southern California. He owns a law practice in San Juan Capistrano where he lives with his wife and their two sons.
