What do the new maps mean for our 2022 reelection campaign?
** New Year. New Maps. New Challenges

Just a few weeks ago, the public and lawmakers alike set their eyes on the new state house and senate maps for the first time. The Legislative Reapportionment Commission ([link removed]) drafted and gave initial approval of the maps and is currently gathering feedback from the public. ** What do the new maps mean
for our2022 reelection campaign? ([link removed])

Well, it's not going to be easy.
First off, nearly 70% of the 21st District is new territory. That's more than 40,000 new people we will have to meet! We'll need your support to make sure we reach every new neighbor. ([link removed])
In addition, the new maps draw me in with a sitting Republican Representative, meaning we will be vying for the same seat.
All of this means we will have to work our tail off in 2022 to meet all these new people and keep our corner of the state blue.
At this point, you might be wondering, "Wow, Sara; it sounds like you might be miffed at these maps!"
Well, I'm not.
These maps were never about drawing something easy for a legislator. The ultimate goal of the proposed state legislature maps was to create fair and just districts that keep communities of interest together. These maps are a vast improvement from our current district lines, and it gives us a new opportunity to meet new neighbors.
