Dear Members and Associates,

DSA supports single payer Medicare for All. Here in Minnesota we also have the possibility of a state run, true single payer system called The Minnesota Health Plan. Senator John Marty has been pushing it for years.

On November 13 Senator Marty will be at UMD for an unofficial Senate hearing. They are looking for people to testify for 2-3 minutes in favor or against the plan, with their own health stories if possible. I'll paste the information from Healthcare For All Minnesota below. Next week is our exciting event with Senator Marty at UMD. Please note that the location is now the Marshal Auditorium. HCAMN is hoping that we can find some people willing to testify either for or against the Minnesota Health Plan, perhaps with personal health stories. These would be 2-3 minute statements. Due to the importance of this issue, Sen. John Marty has scheduled an unofficial Senate hearing. This is an opportunity for supporters and opponents to testify on the proposal. All members of the MN Senate Health & Human Services Committee have been invited, along with local legislators. Public testimony will be accepted at the hearing.
