John, sign and send the petition: Big Tech corporations like Amazon have too much power. Break up Big Tech!
Big Tech corporations like Amazon and Facebook have way too much power in our economy and democracy. No company made up of unelected corporate executives should have that much power.
The public is tired of Big Tech corporations taking advantage of their power to exploit workers, small businesses, and frontline communities. But current laws and enforcement mechanisms have proven insufficient at curtailing the harms resulting from Big Tech's power.
Amazon, in particular, uses its power to enrich itself by exploiting workers and taking advantage of the small businesses that are forced to sell on the platform if they want to succeed. The corporation's dominance makes it impossible for those businesses to grow online without selling on Amazon.
Amazon can then control which small small businesses get the most views on their platform. It then uses the troves of data it collects from those businesses to undercut them with pricing or advertising.

Small, independent businesses have seen a steep decline in recent years. The number of startups launched annually has fallen by nearly half since the 1970s – aided by lawmakers intent on dismantling antitrust laws. This contributed to a decline in small businesses, weakened antitrust enforcement, and increased anticompetitive behavior by big corporations using their market power to undermine rivals.
Too many small businesses have been destroyed or pushed to the limit by Amazon's greed, control of supply chains, and preferencing of its own products.
Breaking Amazon up means letting businesses compete on the merits of their products and services instead of being subject to Amazon's whims.
Sign and send the petition: Urge Congress to cosponsor the bills that would Break Up Big Tech.
