[ [link removed] ]Katie Porter for Congress
John,
In the spirit of it now being an election year, I wanted to share what
inspires me to keep fighting: it’s the idea that we as a country are not
doing good enough.
We are not doing good enough for women, for people of color, for
immigrants, for LGBTQ+ people, for people with disabilities. The idea that
things may be better than they once were is not good enough.
I know that we can do better. I also know this sentiment is what unites so
many people who are on our team—whether you’re a volunteer, a donor, or a
voter. Thank you for believing that we can do better.
It’s time to stop asking ourselves if we are good enough (I often ask
myself if I am a good enough mom), and instead say ‘not good enough’ to
the forces that are holding our country back—large corporations who refuse
to pay a living wage, special interests that influence our politics, and
politicians who stow hatred and division.
