As we speak, Mitch McConnell, Donald Trump, and the entire GOP are shaking in their boots over what happened this Tuesday.

Not only did we successfully flip the entire Virginia state legislature from red-to-blue for the first time in 26 years, but Democrats did the unthinkable and won the Kentucky governor seat for the first time in decades.

That’s right. Against an unpopular Republican Governor, we flipped Kentucky. And you know what that means? We can do it again in 2020 when a very unpopular Senator Mitch McConnell is up for re-election, and we flip the U.S. Senate.

Frankly, this is an embarrassment for Trump, McConnell, and the rest of their party — and it shows the power of our grassroots movement.

Trump and company thought they had Kentucky in the bag, with an incumbent Republican in the governor’s seat already, a Trump rally right before election day, and a state where Trump won the presidential race by nearly 30 points in 2016.

Despite all of that, Democrat Andy Beshear declared victory with about 5,000 more votes than his GOP opponent, proving we CAN take home wins in competitive races even in “deep red” states like Kentucky.
