Dear friend -- In 2020, we saw a record number of young people and people of color turn out to vote. This was a huge accomplishment -- and the result of dedicated work by countless community leaders and organizers. Together, we built a diverse coalition to flip the Senate, hold the House, and win the White House. But the Republican Party, led by former President Trump, has refused to acknowledge those results -- and has worked to ensure we can never turn out in those numbers again. Rather than embracing free and fair elections as the cornerstone of our democracy, they attempted a coup in January of 2021 and are still waging an all-out voter suppression campaign. That’s why it’s so important that we abolish the filibuster and pass voting rights. Nothing less than the future of our democracy is at stake. The campaign they’re waging now will have impacts for years to come -- so we don’t have a minute to waste. Senator Schumer has called for a vote on the filibuster and the Freedom to Vote Act, which means we need to double down and build momentum starting now.
