The Congressional Black Caucus of the House of Representatives issued a new statement urging their colleagues in the Senate to pass the Freedom to Vote Act. The bill has already passed the House, Biden has signaled support for it -- we just need the Senate to act!

Their latest call for action comes on the heels of Georgia Senator Raphael Warnock’s speech urging his Democratic colleagues in the Senate to take national action on voting rights as Republicans continue to refuse to even debate the bill.

"Who is being asked to foot the bill for this bipartisanship? And is liberty itself the cost? I submit that that’s a price too high and a bridge too far." -- Georgia Senator Raphael Warnock Do you agree with Sen. Warnock? Make a donation here → [[link removed]]

We agree with Sen. Warnock and the Congressional Black Caucus. We must take action on voting rights while Democrats are in charge. Will you pitch in $35 right now to help us continue investing in our more than $1 million campaign to pass this bill and ensure our elections are fair?

The Chairwoman of the Congressional Black Caucus also sounded the alarm on Republican efforts to muddy the waters on the state level, warning black voters will be especially impacted by the hundreds of voter suppression laws that have been considered.

CBC Chairwoman Joyce Beatty said: Black communities will “lose the most if the Senate does not do its job and pass voting rights legislation."

Passing nationwide voting reforms is one of the surest ways we can stave off undemocratic attempts to overturn fair election results on the national, state, and local level.

On Monday, Senate Majority Leader Schumer said he plans to consider and debate changes to the Senate rules if Republicans do not change course from obstructing the democracy reforms we so badly need.

Can we count on you to make a $35 donation right now? Your contribution will help us pass this bill into law and tackle “the central moral issue confronting this Congress in this moment.”
