![]() Hi team, It has been a tough week in several suburban neighborhoods in Colorado as a wind-swept wildfire destroyed hundreds of homes and forced thousands to evacuate. Our thoughts are with the people affected by the wildfires. Thankfully much of the fire has been contained, but unfortunately, as we may have suspected, climate change is at the core of the frequency of such wildfires in Colorado. Wildfires in the West have worsened in recent years, growing larger, spreading faster, and increasing in frequency, burning into the fall and winter. Research suggests that heat and dryness are significant reasons for the increase in the intensity, with rainfall patterns disrupted and snow melting earlier than expected adding to the severity of the fires. Team, climate change is here, and we have the responsibility to protect the earth for future generations. Future Forum Democrats will continue to advocate for climate centered policies and wholly support President Biden prioritizing climate focused policy making throughout his administration.
Stay safe, and remember, no matter who you vote for, climate change affects everyone. We are all in this together. Team Future Forum
