It’s official.
Earlier this week, Rand Paul officially announced he’s launching his re-election campaign to represent Kentucky in the U.S. Senate for another six years.
That’s six more years of spreading conspiracy theories and lies that undermine our democracy. Six more years of holding up legislation like the 9/11 Victims Compensation Fund and the Emmett Till Anti-Lynching Act. Six more years of using his elected office to trade stocks using insider knowledge.
Our country cannot afford six more years of Rand Paul.
Rand has been representing Kentucky in the U.S. Senate for nearly a decade. For more than 10 years, he’s had an incredible opportunity to uplift Kentuckians and bring real change to our commonwealth.
But the only person who's benefited from Rand being in the Senate is Rand. He’s consistently ignored Kentuckians and our needs. And the sad truth is that Kentucky has one of the worst records of voter disenfranchisement in our country’s history which has allowed failed leaders like Rand to stay in office.
He’s voted against policies that would protect our right to vote, protect people with preexisting conditions, provide jobs for our communities, and save lives. Especially now — in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic — Rand refuses to lift a finger for the record number of working families who are struggling to make ends meet and instead whines on Twitter about how “masks don’t work”.
It's time to elect someone who's the complete opposite of Rand Paul.
Someone who knows what it's like to not have enough money to feed his family.
Someone who looks at his community and asks, "How can I help?"
Someone who isn't afraid to fight for the right thing even when it isn't politically convenient.
