I believe in politics that is grounded in people and participation, and you don’t get that by accident. You have to build it.

That’s why it means so much to me that so many people stepped up to help reach our October grassroots fundraising goal.

As we celebrate the big victories for Democrats in Virginia and Kentucky this week, we’re also celebrating major wins here in central and western New York.

In case you missed it, let me tell you about Manlius, NY.

They told us Manlius was a Republican town.

Well, that “Republican town” just flipped from a 5-1 Republican majority to a 5-1 Democratic majority! Some of the finest candidates I’ve ever known brought a bold message -- a transparent government, a comprehensive town plan, and a goal of 100% renewable energy -- along with a powerful grassroots movement to create a winning combination.

Have no doubt: as we work to flip NY-24 and hold on to the House majority, we’ll be looking to the Manlius Democrats as a model.
