Dear Partners,

Congress has promised to pass legislation that will protect consumers from the harm of surprise medical bills this year, but time is running out. Will you help us hold them accountable for ending this egregious practice?

As we shared earlier this fall, Families USA is leading a national campaign to end surprise medical bills. No Surprises: People Against Unfair Medical Bills, is made up of 16 organizations representing consumers, patients, and workers fighting to hold Congress accountable for banning surprise medical billing.

Families USA and the No Surprises campaign are asking for your help with two actions.

First, please sign your national or state organization on to this letter urging Congress to pass legislation that will ban surprise medical bills this year. Please join us in signing this letter by close of business this Monday, November 11.

Second, the No Surprises campaign is hosting an important Digital Day of Action this coming Tuesday, November 12. Will you participate by taking the following actions on Tuesday?
  • Call your member of Congress and tell them to pass legislation that bans surprise medical bills this year
  • Post a call to action on social media asking your network to call Congress about this issue
    • Sample post: Consumers are powerless against surprise medical bills. Congress must pass legislation this year to end surprise billing. #PassABillOrPayMine http://nosurprisescampaign.org/action/
  • Encourage your networks to participate in the Digital Day of Action using this promotional video
  • Share the digital ads found on the No Surprises homepage on your social media platforms
Next week we will send you a reminder about this important Digital Day of Action and some other resources you can use to urge Congress to act.

Together we can hold Congress accountable for ending surprise medical bills.

In solidarity,
