John,

Another wave of COVID-19 has swept the country,
yet Republicans continue to attack public health experts and cast
doubt on safety measures like vaccines and masks. Luckily,
Democrats are in charge of Congress and the White House, so they
listen to the experts. But let’s remember how Republicans acted
when coronavirus first began to hit America. We can start with
former President Trump.

* “Looks like by April, you know in theory when
it gets a little warmer, it miraculously goes away.”

* “Now, and this is just my hunch, and — but based on a lot of
conversations with a lot of people that do this. Because a lot of
people will have this and it's very mild.”

It’s been nearly two years since he was
confident COVID-19 would just go away, and over 800,000 Americans
have died.
* "I see the disinfectant that knocks it out in
a minute, one minute. And is there a way we can do something like
that by injection inside or almost a cleaning? As you see, it
gets in the lungs, it does a tremendous number on the lungs, so
it would be interesting to check that."

* "Testing is a double-edged sword...When you do testing to that
extent, you're going to find more people, you're going to find
more cases, so I said to my people, 'Slow the testing down,
please."

His brilliant public health strategies were to
suggest drinking bleach and slowing down testing. Meanwhile our
nation was being ravaged by the disease.

John, Trump is the
leader of the Republican party, and who will truly be in control
of Congress if the GOP takes the House this year. If you don’t
want Congress to be led by people who didn’t even believe
COVID-19 was real, please contribute whatever you can today to
ensure we are led by folks like Hank who are looking out for all
of us

.

The GOP take their messaging directly from
Trump. Just look at how his cronies continued his lies after he
left office:
* Senator Rand Paul: "Most of the masks you get
over the counter don’t work. They don’t prevent infection."

* Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene: “The FDA should not approve the
COVID vaccines. There are too many reports of infection & spread
of COVID-19 among vaccinated people. These vaccines are failing
and do not reduce the spread of the virus & neither do masks.”

* Rep. Jim Jordan: “Real America is done with COVID-19.”

Republicans ignoring the science is what led to
our disastrous response to COVID-19 when it first hit. If
Republicans take control of Congress in 2022, they’ll use their
larger microphone to spread more COVID-19 disinformation. We
can’t let it happen, lives depend on it. Are you with us?
