The U.S. Supreme Court is the most unpopular it’s been in decades according to a Gallup poll, with an approval rating of just 40%.
After Mitch McConnell and Senate Republicans helped Donald Trump install an expanded right-wing majority, a record-high percentage of Americans now believe the court is “too conservative.”
This week, the Congressional Progressive Caucus endorsed the Judiciary Act of 2021, which will re-balance the Supreme Court by adding 4 seats.
The right-wing Supreme Court appears to be on the brink of weakening or dismantling Roe v. Wade.
And, SCOTUS is making record use of a “shadow docket” procedure that doesn’t require oral arguments or public written opinions.
These opaque actions include a refusal to block a near-total ban on abortion in Texas, and ending a moratorium on evictions during a deadly pandemic.
