A Remain Alliance has been announced!

73 seats will see candidates from the Liberal Democrats, Plaid Cymru and the Greens stand down to support a single candidate in December to help secure a pro-European majority, and stop Brexit.

More than most, I know how difficult that decision must have been, but also how vital it is at this moment in time. Will you help the campaign right now?

I was selected as the Lib Dem candidate in Beaconsfield, but I made the decision to stand down and work with Dominic Grieve. Because this election is different. It will decide not just the next few years, but the direction of this country for a generation.

Dominic has proven himself a vital opponent of Brexit, and a shining example of putting principles ahead of party. I applaud candidates all over the country who have stood down in the same spirit.

Best for Britain has been working to get politicians like me and Dominic to co-operate with other parties, and encouraging grassroots campaigns to form their own pro-European alliances. I am proud to support Best for Britain and their GetVoting.org tactical vote campaign.

Splitting the Remain vote in Beaconsfield between Dominic and a Liberal Democrat would only serve the Brexiters.

This Remain Alliance shows people are recognising the significance of this election. Politicians and voters both need to put their differences aside and work together.

What we really need is electoral reform, to make every vote equal. But right now tactical voting is the best option we’ve got. I hope you will help fund Get Voting, so pro-Europeans across the UK can vote tactically.

Best for Britain has showed that if we can get just a third of Remainer voters to vote for the strongest pro-European candidate, we could deny Johnson a majority.

This Remain alliance gives me real hope that we can do this, that voters and activists from across the nation will come together in order to ensure a brighter future for all.
