Meet Silver, a very lucky turkey who lives at The Retreat Animal Rescue.
Silver was spared a life of suffering on a factory farm after a worker took pity on her, due to her deformed face, and brought her to the sanctuary. She is one of the lucky ones.
Bramble Bill is the friendliest turkey you will ever meet and lives at The Retreat Animal Rescue. He loves being around people and enjoys having his little head scratched. He is a true gent who looks after any new turkey arrivals – including his friends Simeon and John-Boy. He is often compared to a dog; but Bill just proves that all animals want to be loved.
Turkeys are amazing animals. They each have their own personalities, quirky behaviours and friendship groups, and, above all, none of them want to die. Sadly, an estimated 14 million turkeys are slaughtered for food every year in the UK. Many of these animals will be killed solely for Christmas dinners. These animals are all individuals who deserve to live free from harm, just like Silver and Bramble Bill.
