John --

From all of us at the Republican Party of Wisconsin, Happy New Year to you and yours! After laying the foundation for success throughout 2021, we are excited to finally reach 2022 and enter a critical Election Year – one that will determine party control of our governor’s office, U.S. House, and U.S. Senate. And of course, it all starts right here in Wisconsin.

2021 was about making inroads and laying the groundwork for victory ahead of 2022. Now, our focus is on winning – which means supporting conservative candidates in April’s local elections, ramping up our ground game efforts, opening new offices, and connecting with communities across the state. Our success thus far is thanks to the work of grassroots supporters like you – and we hope you will join us as we work to defeat Tony Evers, elect a Republican U.S. Senator, and win at every level of the ballot this year.

You can read more updates about our efforts below. As always, thank you for all that you do.

Last week, the Republican Party of Wisconsin issued the official Call to Convention for our annual 2022 State Convention! This year’s event will be held at the Marriott West in Middleton, Wisconsin on May 20-22 – and we are excited to have our great candidates make their cases and take their messages directly to the grassroots GOP. Room block information is forthcoming very soon, but make sure you save the date! We’d love to have you join us.

Once again, self-proclaimed ‘education governor’ Teachers Union Tony Evers is failing Wisconsin students. This week, students in Milwaukee and Madison have suffered as their schools were shuttered once again – presenting deja vu for parents who watched their children struggle with learning loss in 2020 and 2021. Evers has been silent, but after his already disastrous education failures including cratering <[link removed]> student proficiency in English language arts and math, he owes Wisconsinites answers on where he stands and leadership on this issue.

Poll workers are the first line of defense for election integrity. That’s why this year, Republicans launched a historic effort to recruit more poll workers than ever before – resulting in approximately 5,000 poll workers submitted to local clerks. The media has taken notice, as the Cambridge News-Deerfield Independent reported <[link removed]> on our efforts alongside the Dane County Republican Party that resulted in a historic increase in Dane County and across Wisconsin. Thank you to our grassroots activists and county party leaders across the state who made this success possible!

Following the horrific attack in Waukesha last month, Republicans have denounced the bail policies of Milwaukee District Attorney John Chisholm, whose office allowed Darrell Brooks to walk the streets on just $1,000 bail. Yet Tony Evers still hasn’t answered questions on whether he will fire John Chisholm, and Democrats like Mandela Barnes who previously opposed <[link removed]> cash bail have remained entirely silent. Wisconsinites are watching closely to see whether Democrats will stand up for public safety or for violent criminals.

2021’s Biggest Flops: Wisconsin Democrats Edition <[link removed]>

2021 was a rough year for Tony Evers. First, Evers’ tax-and-spend budget of liberal priorities, including a $1 billion tax hike, was stopped in its tracks thanks to Republicans in the Legislature, so Evers spent the remainder of 2021 touting one of his biggest campaign promises – the Liberal Maps Commission. The result was disastrous. Evers’ maps ignored the Voting Rights Act and would have disenfranchised over 520,000 Wisconsin voters – leading to a stunning bipartisan rebuke of Evers’ top campaign promise, as seventeen Democrats in the State Assembly, including Minority Leader Gordon Hintz, voted against Evers’ maps. In the end, even he ignored his “Peoples Maps Commission” by refusing to submit their maps to the state Supreme Court.

Josh Kaul Passes the Buck Again <[link removed]>

Josh Kaul closed out 2021 with a pile of eyebrow-raising headlines. After Kaul spent his 2018 campaign criticizing Brad Schimel for the performance of the DOJ crime lab, Kaul’s own crime lab has been less efficient despite taking on fewer cases. However, as usual, Josh Kaul deflected blame and even suggested to WisPolitics that his failures were not his fault.

Statement on John Chisholm Complaint <[link removed]>

Empower Wisconsin reported that Milwaukee County residents have filed an official complaint asking for the removal of Milwaukee County District Attorney John Chisholm, who admitted that his office’s bail recommendation for Darrell Brooks was “inappropriately low.” While calls for Chisholm’s ouster have mounted, Tony Evers has refused to let Wisconsinites know where he stands on the issue.
