Just days before Christmas, Senator Joe Manchin announced that he doesn’t support the Build Back Better Act, even after Democrats cut many crucial provisions to satisfy his demands. He seems hellbent on stopping monthly family tax cut payments, lower prescription drug prices, and real climate action. Even the Grinch had a change of heart at least. 
 
This is why a 50/50 split in the Senate and a five vote margin in the House isn’t enough. We need bigger margins with more progressive Democrats dedicated to improving our daily lives. 
 
People are hurting right now. The family tax cut payments have run out in the middle of the winter, prescription drug prices continue to rise, and extreme weather events are becoming more frequent and more destructive. All of this is happening in the midst of another surge of COVID-19 cases which continue to harm our economy. We need progressive change now to give Americans the boost they deserve.
