January 6, 2021: One Year Later

The ideologies underpinning the January 6 attack continue to pose a serious and imminent threat to our democracy. We are proud of the progress ADL and our supporters have made in the aftermath of January 6—tracking and identifying extremist connections, testifying on Capitol Hill, serving as co-counsel in a civil lawsuit against Proud Boys and Oath Keepers and advocating for critical legislation—but the battle against extremism is far from over.


It is vital that we continue to fight, we continue to act, we continue to push back and speak out against extremism and hate. Below are resources to learn more.

We are inviting synagogues across D.C., MD, NC and VA to join ADL Washington, D.C.’s 2022 Signature Synagogue Program. Through the program, ADL partners with synagogues across our region to ignite a congregation-wide commitment to raising awareness of and speaking out against antisemitism and hate. Participants in the Signature Synagogue Program will have special direct access to ADL speaking engagements, Words to Action workshops, resources and learning opportunities.

Developments in Arab Society in Israel

Join the JCRC of Greater Washington for a two-part series exploring the unprecedented developments in Israel over the past year, from the May 2021 events to an Arab political party playing a critical role in the governing coalition, leading to a historic NIS 30 billion commitment to Arab society in Israel.


This series will shed light on the changes in Israeli society, including new challenges and opportunities and the greater awareness within Israel about the socio-economic gaps among Arab and Israeli citizens. Speakers will share how they apply their particular expertise in law, academia, journalism and politics to advance this change in Israeli society.


Featured Speakers: Gadeer Kamal-Mreeh, Federation and Jewish Agency for Israel, Senior Envoy to Greater Washington and Prof. Mohammed Wattad, Dean of Law, Zefat Academic College. Moderated by Galia Messika-Greenberg, Israel Commission Co-Chair, JCRC of Greater Washington.
