In fact, I don’t really even like writing these things. Alright, let me quickly introduce myself and tell you why I’m emailing you. My name is Nick Merlino and I’m Democrat Annette Taddeo’s campaign manager. Together we’re going to defeat Ron DeSantis.

Now, usually I prefer to work behind the scenes, but we’re just a few days into 2022 and the campaign is already behind on our fundraising projections. So I had to reach out personally.

For years, Ron DeSantis has failed the people of Florida. Not only that, but he’s become a national laughing stock, a point of humiliation for anybody who lives here. I spend a lot of time talking to voters and activists – there is a deep sense of urgency for new leadership in Tallahassee.

Now, I’m a little biased, but I really think this is Annette Taddeo’s moment. A small business owner and the first Latina Democrat to ever serve in Florida’s State Senate – she is a natural born leader, who has spent her career building the diverse coalitions we’ll need to win.

Just as importantly, Annette believes in the people of this state. She doesn't approach this job like another politician. But as a mother. A Latina. A small business owner. A Floridian.

Here’s the deal: On January 11th, the campaign will not be able to fundraise for 60 days. We did the math – in order to make up for lost ground, we need to raise $100,000 before that deadline. And we’re running out of time.
