We have BIG NEWS!
Edward Burroughs, one of our jointly endorsed candidates with the Working Families Party, just won the special primary election for the District 8 seat on the Prince George’s County Council. 🙌
Not only is this our first victory of 2022 just a week into the new year, it’s also a HUGE win. We were able to secure 72% of the vote, which is a major blowout result. We are incredibly proud of our candidate, and we’re grateful to have played a role in Edward’s enormous victory. It looks like our message for transformative change resonated with voters in Prince George’s County! Securing Edward’s position on the County Council is a crucial step toward the change we need for our communities.
Dedication to organizing for electoral change is at the heart of our mission here at Progressive Maryland. We’ll be working hard all this year to elect more progressive candidates like Edward across the state. But we can’t do it without resources to power the phone calls, canvasses, and other get out the vote efforts that lead to successes like this.
